Day number four of Equi-est Summer of Horse Safety Tips!
Road conditions, especially busier roads, means that riding side by side with your fellow horse and rider may not always be possible. Although it’s a good idea to do this when possible, especially if the more confident or experience horse is on the outside, when it is not possible always ensure that you leave a horse length space between you and your riding companion. Horses can be unpredictable and when they spook we never quite know what they’re going to do. Be sure to leave enough space so that if the horse in front kicks or naps you’ve got enough time to stay out of danger.
